Happy Friday!

It's the weekend at last, this week feels like it dragged fooo' sure. This week was mildly uneventful although yesterday was October 3rd and the Mean Girls world imploded and it was a very grand day quoting Mean Girls (not that I don't do that on a daily basis anyway - totes relatable, I mean "get in loser we're going shopping" who doesn't use that in everyday life??)

I digress. Looking forward to another chilled weekend and procrastinating hopefully getting myself organised for the upcoming exams and what not. I am also loving getting back in the blogging groove.

Rainbow Splash.

This past weekend was the Festival of Chariots held on the beachfront. We went a couple of times over the weekend. It started on Friday with the pulling of the chariots (which is exactly as it sounds - the giant chariots were pulled by ropes by people along the promenade).

Yesterday was the Rainbow Splash, essentially like the celebration of Holi. Holi is the Hindu festival where it celebrates the beginning of Spring and a time to say farewell to winter and commemorates times of good harvests and fertile land. The event is celebrated by throwing coloured powder at each other.

So that's what we did yesterday on the beach. The Festival of Chariots held the Rainbow Splash event and was basically a 2-hour event of throwing coloured powder at each other whilst a DJ (Deon-G) entertained us. Every half an hour or so, there would a mass throwing of colour in the air where we would throw a certain colour up in the air. The whole event was heaps of fun and we all looked like we swam in a rainbow by the end of it.

Just a tip to all those going to next week's Colour Fest, don't talk that much otherwise you gonna get some of the colour in your mouth and that stuff stains. Also being short doesn't really help because people just dump a whole lot of colour on top of you hence my face is the most colourful. But it's still loads of fun so enjoy chickens!

Yeaah it's friday.

This weekend shall probably see me sleeping late guilt-free because I don't have to wake up early to study. Woooohoooo. I know you're excited too. Oh and maybe I'll go out into the real-world. Maybe. I might possibly be too lazy to change into anything suitable because I have gotten used to wearing tracksuit pants (sweatpants for you Americans). That could be a problem. Oh well, that's a non-issue en ce moment. Hope you all have a smashing weekend and if you're studying not to fear exams shall soon be over. If not, have fun with whatever you're doing and stay stylish!

With shops starting to put Christmas decorations up already and everyone gearing up for the festive season I thought this picture related to it all. The lights, fairy lights, christmas lights? See the connection? Me neither, I literally sucked that from my thumb as the saying goes, it's just a really cool photo of Ryan Gosling. Just one of many from my Pintrest adventures, aah that does sound really lame. Anyway, I'm so glad it's the weekend - this week consisted of too many exams and I'm nowhere near done. Funnn..
I think I'm going to go hibernate for the rest of the afternoon or just be generally lazy and reject all my books. Hope you all have a fun weekend and are not putting up your Christmas decorations up before November is even over. Don't stare at the picture for too long now, stay stylish!

Hello Weekend.

That two-day fun fest we call the weekend is back in our midst and if it feels like you were balancing a lot on your shoulders this week, take a load off (okay that was all very cheesy considering the above photo). Point is try to schedule some "fun" this weekend if you're planning to work. If you're not maybe try something different? Whatever you're doing, stay stylish!

And we're back to Friday again, it couldn't have come any sooner. I do love the weekends, I really do. This weekend I can foresee my self hibernating and probably catching up on all that reading I keep telling myself I am going to do but I may just end up catching up on my series. Yeaaah it's Friday. Woohoo, although being on holiday today technically has no significance to me because everyday this week felt like a Friday or rather a Saturday because let's just get real - Saturdays are better than Fridays. We've been up in Jo'burg since yesterday soaking up the last few days of holiday bliss, hopefully we'll get some shopping done and I can get a new nail polish colour which I desperately want. Quote du Jour.

With a recent death in our community, I thought that this Quote du Jour should be a little bit more inspirational. Just a little reminder that life is short and that we should be making the most of every day we have.

Don't forget Carpe Diem, YOLO, Hakuna Matata and all the rest of those inspirational mottos but to end this on a lighter note... I turned 16 yesterday! Yaaaysies.
