My little piece of vintage.
This blazer originally belonged to my mum and she bought when she was on honeymoon 18 years ago in Phuket. She recently gave it to me sans the matching skirt. Despite it technically not being vintage or even retro for that matter, I still think it to be my little piece of vintage being the only thing in my closet that is older than me.

Back in the day.
It took me a while to come across this site again but I thankfully found it again so I can now site it for this blog post. I stumbled upon the site Dear Photograph last year (i think) and couldn't resist trying it out for myself and doing a few of my own photographs from when I was a toddler. I had done many attempts with various photographs but this one is the only one I found to be the best. If you try your own you can submit it to the site with the story behind it.

The haircut I want (11) sans the surprised look. |
So 21 seems like a nice number to leave this at for now. Hopefully some of these will motivate me to do more in the September and December holidays than just sit in front of the television watching re-runs of shows from eons ago although number 12 would require me to do so..
Keep Calm.
One of the best birthday presents. Ever. Handmade, so yes I do feel very special. Thanks to my fellow blogger Becky for the gift.
Excuse the horrible pose and marvel at the tee.

And...SWING!
Last friday night (I know you just started singing Katy Perry in your head) we all got dressed up, donned our heels and went out to Moyo's @uShaka to celebrate my 16th birthday. The vibe was amazing and every hour or so the staff did a dance to whatever song that was currently playing. We even joined in one time and tried to copy there moves which we eventually picked up after a song or two. The song of the evening, however, was Gangnam Style although we didn't get a chance to play it and get up and dance to it we were still bopping along to it in our seats. Along with that was Moyo's face paint which we all loved. It's amazing how with just a toothpick and some white paint they can paint unique African patterns on your face. The food was all African-themed or specifically local cuisine. I was sung too twice by the Moyo's staff which was fun - the second time was with ice-cream.
I wore a mullet-style dress with black heels and necklace and earrings which I got as birthday presents from both my aunts. I painted my fingernails a nude colour (Sand Tropez by Essie). Despite me wearing heels, everyone else wore heels too so I was still short in comparison as you will see in the photo's. Sigh. Just a little fashion update for you style-watchers out there.

Printed Jeans.
Yesterday I walked in to a renovated Foschini at Gateway and was amazed at how the store's look mirrored oversea's stores such as Top Shop, Primark and even local store Forever New. Browsing through the clothes, I fell in love with printed jeans. I've been told that I can pull them off so I'm waiting to get a pair and wear them with my wedge heels and a plain tee. I'm getting more excited to wear these as I type this, someone buy me a pair?
